Short answer
Pick Plus AI if you work in PowerPoint as well as Google Slides, and you want a 7-day trial that includes 1,000 credits. Pick Gemini in Google Slides if your organization already pays for an eligible Workspace or Google AI plan, and 100 generated slides per month is enough for your team. Neither tool has been timed in our tests, so the comparison below covers what each vendor states. Both products work on a presentation file, not on a single image or a web page.
What we compared
Plus AI’s pricing page was read directly on October 17, 2026. Google’s help articles, its Workspace update and its admin usage-limit page were read from search excerpts on the same date. Neither product was run for this post.

How each one starts
Plus AI’s path is short. You install the extension, sign in, and write a prompt. The pricing page lists prompt-to-presentation and document-to-presentation as features, and its trial starts from the sign-up step. Because the extension lives inside the file you already use, you never export or import anything.
Gemini’s path depends on the route you take. Google’s 2026 Workspace update describes a flow in which Gemini asks follow-up questions and shows an outline for you to approve before any slide is built. That step improves control, but it adds a round trip. Google’s help page also describes a simpler route: open the side panel, enter one prompt, and insert the generated slide. In both routes the output is an editable Google Slides deck.
Limits that decide the cost
Plus AI counts credits per task, and the pricing page says a task typically uses 40 to 170 credits. At that range, 1,500 monthly credits covers roughly 9 to 37 tasks. The number depends on the size of each job, so treat the range as a guide and not a promise. The trial includes 1,000 credits, which is less than a full month on Basic.
Gemini’s limit is counted in slides, not credits. Google’s admin page lists 100 generated slides per month for Business Standard and Plus, and 500 for AI Expanded Access. If slides are counted one by one, as the label suggests, a 10-slide deck uses 10 of the 100. The page also says slide generation does not count toward image-generation limits, which are tracked separately.
Where the deck is built
With Plus AI, the deck is built inside the PowerPoint or Google Slides file you already own. That matters when a template, a slide master or a brand font already exists in that file.
With Gemini in Google Slides, the output is a native Google Slides presentation, and the feature is designed around that file type. If your team sends decks as PowerPoint files, export is a separate step to check before you commit.
Speed: what the vendors state
Neither vendor gives a verified generation time for a complete deck. Plus AI’s pages describe what a task costs in credits. Google describes the steps and the limits, not the time. We have not timed either path, so this post does not rank them on speed. Our methodology lists the brief, the clock rules and the scoring band we will use in the next run.
Matching the tool to the team
- Pick Plus AI if your team moves between PowerPoint and Google Slides, and you want to try the product for 7 days before paying.
- Pick Gemini in Google Slides if your organization already has an eligible plan and your deck volume stays under the monthly slide limit.
- Pick neither if you need a deck with brand fonts and a template you have not yet loaded into either app. Test that case first, because it is where most delays appear.
Evidence and method
Sources: the Plus AI pricing page, read directly on October 17, 2026; Google’s Gemini in Slides help article, its Workspace update of June 30, 2026, and the Workspace admin usage-limit page, read from search excerpts on the same date. Limits: Google’s help page lists the feature as desktop and English only at the time we read it, and that may change. No generation times were measured.
